€ 2,50 for each night and each person older than 14 years of age is added by your host as guest tax, which is charged by the local council.
For what purpose is the guest tax? – What’s the benefit for me?
The guest tax is not a hidden tax or fee which flows into the general finance pot of the council, rather, it is a small charge, which is completely used for the equipment and services that have been established to make your holiday more enjoyable. In addition, the correct and proper use of this money is controlled by the state.
The operation and care of the following equipment and services is financed:
- Walserbus
- Walser Museum, Bergschau (Mountain Show), Ski Museum
- 150 km summer hiking trails & 50 km winter hiking trails
- Park benches, Kneipp water basins
- Guided tours, concerts
- Cross-country ski runs
- Support of various events and a lot more
