Parishchurch St. Jodok in Mittelberg

Not long after their settlement in the 13th century, the Mittelberger built their first place of worship. A stone with the year 1302 on the outside wall of the church in Mittelberg is considered as proof of existence of a small sacred building. 1391 saw the inauguration of the chapel, which was then raised to it's own independent Parish status - 1972 restoration of the fresco's on the walls (In the year 1374 the church steeple was built in 4. pieces. This is still evident from the outside of the 33m high tower).

Worth seeing: Lategothical wall fresco's from the years 1470/71, gothical baptism stone from 1495 with the coats of arms from Duke Sigmund of Tirol and Katharina of Saxonia - a gift from the duke.

Parishchurch Maria Opferung in Riezlern

1471 proof of the first chapel in Riezlern - 1491/93 the buklding of a new church with bulbolous tower. Riezlern's parish belonged to Oberstdorf and thus to the Dioecese Augsburg - Breitach was recognised, up until 1816, as the official Dioecesans border. 1889 the church was in such a bad state that it was torn down and including the tower, was rebuilt in the roman style of this time.

Worth seeing: Painting in Kasein technik of Martin von Feuerstein.

Parishchurch St. Anna in Hirschegg

In the year 1570 there is several references to a church in Hirschegg, which was then changed and converted several times. 1804 saw the new building of the current parish church.

Worth seeing: Wall fresco's from 1903 of the Viennese painters Franz X Ditirch, pupil of the famous Bregenzerwälder Matin Ritter von Feuerstein.

Mountain Church St. Martin in Baad

To Höhenweg, Mittelberg-Baad

In the year 1636 the old chapel stood about 40 meters northwest of the Kaplan house, which is directly behind the current church. 1851 saw the old chapel and it's location aborted because of avalanche danger and a new location was found and a new church was built  upon it..

Worth seeing: High altar sheet St. Martin of the artist Xaver Bobleter from Feldkirch, figures of the Walser holy St. Theodul and the Hl. Barbara around 1670, side altars - Maria and Wendelin - works to Deschwandens 1856, cross with three Putten at the beginning of 18. century.

Evangelist Kreuzkirche in Hirschegg

The first Evangelist services were held in 1925 in Riezlern. 1951 to 1953 the Church of the Cross, after a draft by Professor G. Gsaenger from Munich, was constructed. 

Worth seeing: Altar sculpted by Schwarzkopf; Painting of the four evangelists of Gsaenger.
