Customs, nationality and days with a special meaning in Kleinwalsertal

Traditional customs give us an inside look at the life of the people who live on the land, their joys and suffering and their religious attitudes. Each region has, besides it's villages special habits, its own well-known special customs and peculiarnesses and this is also the case in Kleinwalsertal.

Understandably, a lot of this was lost though tourism which would lead some readers to say that "it is only an old hat..... those days are long gone and forgotten"

But that is not the case and besides we don't want to forget about it completely, these are our customs, a sign of our nationality. Of the old customs, unfortunately only a small amount remain preserved in our time. To introduce and maintain all of these customs or to try again, seems to always fail as they are simply changed or modernized according to the present day.

Perhaps we, even if in small circles, have the possibility of celebrating or joining  in celebrations we should rejoice, that the old, delivered customs will always remain in our memory.
