Kleinwalsertal - rich in butterflies

A research project began approx. 4 years ago in Kleinwalsertal, that explores the stock of butterflies. The results, discoverd to date, are very enthusiastic and sensational: Up to now 87 different dayly active butterflies have been seen, of which one Perlmutterfalterart is a sensation, as the last time these butterflies were seen in  Vorarlberg was in 1923.

Walser culture trail

Not only the unique landscape distinguishes Kleinwalsertal. The eventful history of this high mountain valley has many of it's own witnesses to the past.

Schooldirector Wolfgang Hilbrand has approximately 40 objects (building, weiler, monuments) concisely described in the form of a small brochure called "Culture Leader"

The marked trails begin in Riezlern, Hirschegg and Mittelberg at the parish churches.

At the different objects on the trails are boards, which briefly inform the viewer of its important characteristics. More exact details can be optained from the booklet "Originales & Originelles" (in german language, € 3,50 with Allgäu-Walser-Card).
