Tax & Insurance
Did you ever ask yourself the question: Why do I have to pay guest tax and what are the benefits? During your booking process you will also be offered a travel cancellation insurance: Does it make sense though? Find out about important things you need to know about your stay in Kleinwalsertal.
€ 3,70 for each night and person from the age of 14 pay the so called "guest tax", which is charged by the local council and will be on your bill you pay for your accommodation.
What are my advantages?
Guest tax is not a furtive tax - instead it's fully used for facilities and services that will make your stay even more comfortable. The correct use of this money is controlled by the federal state.
The following facilities already take advatage of the guest tax:
Cancellation insurance will save you costs and hassles in case you're not able to travel or if you stay for a shorter amount of time. When booking via Kleinwalsertal tourism you will be offered a cancellation insurance. If you already booked a cancellation insurance yourself you can request a form from your landlord or Kleinwalsertal tourism office.
A cancellation insurance is valid in the case of:
- natural disasters
- Loss of Job (not due to own fault)
Not covered are the cancellation costs for snow, bad weather and the like.
We recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance at the same time as the booking of your accommodation, because only then will immediate protection be guaranteed. If the insurance is not taken out at the same time as when the booking is made or within three days of the booking, the insurance coverage is only effective on the 10th day after the conclusion.
