5 refreshing tips for hot summer days

Sunny weather and warm temperatures promise feelings of happiness and fun in the mountains. But it is also important to allow yourself to cool down again in order to relieve the body. How good that there are some possibilities in Kleinwalsertal to enjoy hot days in cool places.

1. Jump into the cool water

First place to go in sunny weather is the outdoor pool in Riezlern.  Especially on hot days, the 50-meter-long swimmer's pool and the large children's pool offer welcome cooling. Water slides and diving boards provide the extra portion of fun before you can relax on the spacious lawn. Those who take it a little easier should try the bubble loungers.

2. Refreshment with a view

Relaxation, peace and beautiful views can be found at one of the four nature experience areas in Kleinwalsertal. If the temperatures rise, hikes that pass by one of these places are a must. With their natural Kneipp areas, they are sought-after rest areas along the hiking trails. A cool-down for the feet also refreshes the head and gets the circulation going. You can find out which tours lead to the nature experience areas here.

3. Off to the riverbed!

There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature and dip your feet in the cool water along the Breitach. Feel the water flowing between your toes or listen to the chirping of the birds. We recommend a leisurely hike along the Breitach with time for water fun and a break at the Güütschle-Plätzle.

4. Shade is your best friend

If you want to go on a hike or mountain tour on a sunny day, it is best to start as early as possible and plan well. Although the general rule is: for every 100 m altitude, the temperature drops by 1 degree - but the radiation from the sun is more intense on the mountain than in the valley. So don't forget sunscreen, headgear and enough to drink!

On particularly hot days, we recommend hikes with many shady spots. An ideal tour is for example a hike along the Schwarzwasserbach. In the shade of the forest it can be endured in any case!

5. Cooling down from the inside

What could be better than pausing during a hike, enjoying the view of the mountain panorama and simply letting your soul dangle? Right - nothing ? A fine shady spot with refreshing drinks and homemade yogurt with fruit is certainly waiting at the next mountain hut. The ideal refreshment for the way back or the next hiking stage!
