Einblicke in das Karl Max Kessler Fotoarchiv

The photo archive is dedicated to restoring and digitizing old negatives taken by Karl Max Kessler during the 20th century in order to preserve the history and breathtaking beauty of the Kleinwalsertal. At the event in the Walserhaus, the archive provides an insight into its large fund.

The renowned photographer and historian Arno Gisinger will present the results and impressions from his artistic residency in summer 2023. During his residency, Arno Gisinger had the opportunity to talk to personalities from Kleinwalsertal and to gain deep insights into the past and history of the valley. At the same time, he explored the extensive archive material in the photo archive, immersed himself in the depicted scenes from bygone times and delved deeper into the photographic work of Karl Max Kessler
