VOLUNTEER ACTION DAY: Balsam stop for biodiversity
In recent years, the non-native Himalayan Balsam has also spread in the Kleinwalsertal, especially along the watercourses. Due to the large seed formation, dense stocks of the annual plant are formed, which leads to an impoverishment of the accompanying vegetation. In the forest, it is considered an annoying weed that delays the natural regeneration of the trees. Along water bodies, it displaces the vegetation that protects the bank and leaves open, unsecured areas (risk of erosion) after it dies off in autumn. At the volunteer day of action on 14.06. a contribution is made against the further spread of balsam. Lend a hand together with the employees of the building yard!
