Rich in tradition - distinctive - unique!
Kleinwalsertal - traditional costume and tradition Traditional costume is a synonym for tradition with a future as well as for craftsmanship with passion. Rich in tradition – distinctive – unique!
In general, the Walser costume is a fascinating cultural heritage that is closely linked to the history and tradition of the Walser people. This traditional costume contributes to the identity and sense of community of the Alpine culture. The Kleinwalsertal costume is probably one of the most beautiful in the Alpine region.
Their special appeal lies on the one hand in the splendor of the colors, but on the other hand in the unique shape. This can be seen in the extremely elegant frock coat of the men's costume, which is reminiscent of the Rococo, and the absolutely unique shape of the women's costume, which, contrary to the usual dirndl shape that is usually found in traditional costumes, is laced above the chest.
The exhibition on the Walser traditional costume in the STERN passage in Riezlern shows the beauties of the traditional costume in many detailed pictures and explanations of the diversity and uniqueness.
