7 highlights in 2024 in Kleinwalsertal

The year 2024 was characterized by unique experiences in Kleinwalsertal. Whether musical events, magical nature experiences or culinary discoveries - the valley simply offers an impressive variety year after year. It's quite difficult to make a selection of seven highlights here, but here are seven highlights that we won't soon forget.

1. pure summer feeling: Summerlounge 2024 in Riezlern

A summer afternoon that could hardly have been more beautiful: On Riezlern's town square, every tuesday the Summerlounge 2024 was transformed into a meeting place for good music, refreshing drinks and a relaxed atmosphere. With lounge furniture, decorative lights and outstanding live DJs, the event provided the perfect backdrop for dolce vita in Kleinwalsertal. It felt like a little trip to the Mediterranean - in the middle of the mountains. And best of all - the event series will also be held in 2025!

2. A new day begins: sunrise on the Walmendingerhorn

The alarm clock rang early, but it was more than worth it. We took the gondola up to the Walmendingerhorn before dawn with the special sunrise rides. We covered the last stretch to the summit on foot as darkness slowly gave way to the first morning light. Once at the top, a spectacular sunrise awaited us, bathing the surrounding peaks in a warm light. This moment of silence, interrupted only by the gentle wind and our own thoughts, was indescribable. It felt as if the world stopped for a moment.

3. Winter magic on the Schwendeloipe

On a clear January day, we experienced the perfect winter scenery on the Schwendeloipe. We glided through the snow-covered landscape on our cross-country skis in bright sunshine. The trail meandered through forests and across wide fields of snow, accompanied by a tranquillity that can only be found in winter. Cross-country skiing is not only a sporting activity, but also a moment of peace and relaxation. It was a day that gave us new energy and allowed us to become one with nature.

4. Culinary flights of fancy: dining on the alp

We had one of the most extraordinary dining experiences at the “Tafeln auf der Alp” event. Top chefs spoiled us at a rustic mountain hut with an exquisite menu that perfectly combined local ingredients and culinary creativity. While we enjoyed the culinary dishes, the balmy summer night enveloped the mountains in a gentle silence. The combination of superb cuisine, rustic charm and relaxed company was simply unique. It was an evening when time seemed to stand still.

5. Tradition meets modernity: Alphorn DJ event at the Alphorn Festival

The alphorn DJ event in September was an absolutely surprising and fascinating experience. As part of the Alphorn Festival, it was shown how tradition and modernity can harmonize with each other in a wonderful way. Classic alphorn sounds were combined with modern electronic beats by Loisach Marci, and the result was simply spectacular. The first snow of the season, which fell during the event, gave the whole thing a magical touch and reminded us that winter is already in the starting blocks. It was a special atmosphere that we won't forget in a hurry.

6. Early bird catches the snow: early bird skiing on the Ifen

A very special ski morning starts for us every year at the beginning of February from 7:45 am with early bird skiing on the Ifen. Fresh snow, clear air and the first rays of sunshine colored the mountain world in a golden light. After some fantastic runs, we stopped off at a cozy mountain hut and enjoyed a hearty breakfast. It was the ideal start to the day and we couldn't have imagined a better morning.

7. Mountain tour around the Widderstein

The Widderstein, the majestic guardian of the Kleinwalsertal valley, never ceases to fascinate. The hike around this imposing mountain offered everything: challenging trails, breathtaking views and a feeling of freedom. The tour took us through varied terrain - from green mountain pastures to rocky sections. Along the way, there were always moments to pause, stop for a bite to eat or simply enjoy the beauty of nature. Exhausted & pure happiness at the end.

A year full of highlights!

In 2024, Kleinwalsertal gave us unforgettable experiences that could hardly be more different. Whether enjoyment, adventure or tranquillity - each highlight had its very own charm. We are already looking forward to all the new stories that the valley has in store for me in the future and to the adventures that you might also want to experience with us in 2025!
