The municipality (mayor) is a founding authority for all lost or forgotten items that are found in the municipality Kleinwalsertal. Lost property is accepted by the security guard to determine who is the rightful owner, kept in accordance with the law and published on the municipality's official board and on the internet at www.fundamt.gv.at.
The task of the Fund Office is to accept found objects, to identify their rightful owners and to store the lost property for a period of one year.

Reporting obligation of a find: If you find an item, you have to fulfill a certain obligation to report, which depends on the value of the found item:

Small finds worth less than € 10, - do not have to be handed in to the lost property office, unless the recovery is of considerable importance to the loss bearer (for example photos, documents, ...). Small finds may not be kept secret with demand. If the item is worth more than EUR 10, the finder is required by law to hand it over immediately to the lost property office. Otherwise he would be punishable.

Finder's fee: If the rightful owner is found, you as a finder are entitled to a finder's fee, which in turn depends on the value of the item.
