Short description

The Walser Ultra-Trail is part of the Walser Trail Challenge. The route length is about 65 km and 4200 Hm and starts and ends in Riezlern.

Description

The start of the UltraTrails is in Riezlern. From here it goes via Egg, Wäldele and Küren up to the Gottesacker plateau. Over  Ifen it carries on into Schwarzwassertal and follows out to the Auenhütte. Continue on a short piece of gravel road to the Upper Walmendinger Alpe and continue on to Walmendingerhorn. Over the Lüchlealpe and the Stierhofalpen in direction Grünhorn. The trail from the Grünhorn to the Starzeljoch is exposed. In the Zick Zack Trail it goes down into the Starzeltal (Duratal) and on a dirt road to the village Baad. From here, the route runs like the Walser Trail: past the Bärgunthütte it goes to the Widdersteinhütte. From here via the Gemstelkoblat to the Mindelheimer hut and on the Krumbacher Höhenweg to the Fiederescharte. From the Fiederescharte it goes down in the direction of Fiederepass. Downhill past Wannenalp to the inner Kuhgehrenalp. Here it goes up again to Kuhgehrenscharte. From here downhill over the Zwerenalpe to Riezlern. More information at: www.trailchallenge.at
