Nature Diversity Days

Excursion: European nature reserve Ifen

As regional manager for the Ifen European Protected Area, Martin Bösch is an absolute expert on "his" protected area. The most diverse habitats and landscape forms can be admired in the region between the Bregenzerwald over the 2,230 m high summit of the Ifen to the Gottesackerwänden in neighboring Allgäu. The complex geological subsoil explains this wealth of forms and is accompanied by a special abundance of plants. The area is also home to countless species of birds, rare butterflies, reptiles and amphibians, a specialized alpine fauna up to bats and remarkable species of mosses and lichens.
