From September 23 to 27, 2026, the Kleinwalsertal once again became a grand stage for the alphorn for the twelfth time. Alphorn groups from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Liechtenstein brought the traditional sounds to very special places - from the mountains down to the valley.
Whether during the alphorn hike, the atmospheric alphorn serenade in Baad, or the grand finale featuring a combined choir, the festival showcased the full diversity of this unique tradition. Alphorn techno by Loisach Marci, which blended traditional alphorn sounds with electronic beats, also provided an extraordinary musical contrast.
Five days filled with music, encounters, and living tradition - and a unique sound that will echo among the mountains for a long time to come.

save the date alphorn workshops 2027
In addition to the major alphorn festival in 2026, alphorn enthusiasts can already look forward to another highlight: Alphorn workshops with Berthold Schick will take place again in the Kleinwalsertal in 2027. From September 20th to 23th, 2027, the focus will be on making music together, refining playing techniques, and sharing experiences against a unique Alpine backdrop.
