From September 11 to 15, 2024, Kleinwalsertal was once again dominated by the alphorn. Despite the unexpected onset of winter, numerous alphorn fans from near and far celebrated the traditional shepherd's instrument together with 16 alphorn groups from Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and Switzerland for the eleventh time.
A special highlight of the festival was the new Alphorntechno event with DJ Loisach Marci, who interpreted the alphorn in a modern way in combination with techno music and delighted numerous visitors with his unique music in an exuberant atmosphere. The unexpected onset of winter gave the festival a unique atmosphere. The traditional concerts at the mountain stations of the Kanzelwand and Walmendingerhorn cable cars and the alphorn hikes took place in fresh snow. The concerts on the new festival grounds at the Walmendingerhornbahn parking lot had a unique backdrop with the snow-covered mountains in the background. At the grand finale on Sunday, various music groups created a great atmosphere. The overall choir of all alphorn players with around 90 musicians was the crowning glory of the eleventh edition of the Alphorn Festival, which will be remembered by both the musicians and the visitors.
