The Breitach Gorge is located between the Kleinwalsertal (A) and Tiefenbach (D). Walserbus line 1, stop Walserschanz.
The unique natural monument Breitachklamm is located between the Kleinwalsertal and Tiefenbach. Walserbus line 1 to the Walserschanze stop or from the Oberstdorf bus station change line 44 to Tiefenbach. The gorge was made accessible in 1905 by the Tiefenbach pastor Johannes Schiebel. It is the deepest rock canyon in Central Europe and attracts over 300,000 visitors every year. It is one of the most impressive geotopes in Bavaria and one of the most popular attractions in the Allgäu. A visit is worthwhile in summer and winter, whatever the weather, because the more water flows, the more impressive the Breitachklamm.

In winter, there may be short-term closures due to warm spells or thawing weather.
On December 24th, the Breitach Gorge closes at 2 PM, and on December 31st at 3 PM.
