Steinbockloipe

Operating hours under appropriate temperatures and snow conditions. Here is the current snow sports report. The Steinbockloipe leads for about 15 km from the entrance of Mittelberg to Baad and into the Derratal. It winds through Bödmen, the Gemstelboden, and the Wiesele in several loops.

The Steinbockloipe scores points as a very snow-sure trail. It is relatively centrally located and offers an impressive and wild winter landscape with cross-country ski trail sections in the Gemsteltal and Derra Valley.

There are 5 circuits on the Steinbockloipe as well as a practice area, which are prepared for classic and skating: the Birkenwies circuit (2.2km), the Bödmen-Baad circuit (7.5km), the Derra circuit (1.6km), the Weiher circuit (3.3km) and the Wiesele circuit (3.6km). The Ahorn circuit (4.8km) is prepared exclusively for classic technique.

The moderately difficult to difficult circuits can be run individually or combined with each other. With the Wiesele circuit, an almost 4km long section of cross-country ski trails is covered with snow.

The cross-country trail entrance with the start of most circuits is at Birkenwies. Other possible entrances are at the Weiher car park, in Baad, at the Alpenrose and in Mittelberg/Tobel.

There are rest and refreshment stops along the trail.
