All about Cross-Country Skiing

Three cross-country ski runs, 50 km and teams, whomake sure it's all prepared during winter. We introduce, the heroes of the trails and everything you need to know about cross-country skiing in Kleinwalsertal.

When we slide down in the fresh snow with our skis, feel the breeze on our faces or just run out of steam, our cross-country heroes have already done their job: and this early in the morning at dawn. In the evening, the trails are honed again - ready for the next day. If it weren't for them, our trail network would not be so well developed. We love this winter sport, where you can feel the silence, the effort in your hands and get to places that you otherwise would not see. We introduce the our cross-country tracks and their heroes:

Martin Liebschick prepares sunniest cross-country track of Kleinwalsertal. From Ausserschwende in Riezlern the trail goes over the Straußberg up to the Hörnlepass and leads back over Außerwald back.

  • about 2.5 km skating
  • easy-moderate

Heinz Abler prepares the most demanding trail and puts the tracks of the three-track trail in good condition. Starting in Hirschagg-Au, glide to the Wäldele and back with an extension option to Egg.

The longest trail is covered with artificial snow. The snow cannons take over, while Xander and Andi Mathies provide clear trail trails and fine-tuning. The trail leads past the mountain village of Baad to the Derratal.

Healthy reasons for cross-country skiing

  • About 95% of the muscles on arms, legs, back and stomach are claimed
  • Stimulates circulation
  • Vitalizing
  • Enjoyment of silence and nature

Whether activating or regenerating, in cross-country skiing everyone can decide for themselves which impulse they want to follow.

Good to know

Game rules on the cross-country tracks:

  • Note running direction
  • If you stop, get off the trail
  • Is overhauled right or left
  • In opposite traffic to the right evade
  • Groups run consecutively in the right lane
  • For double or multiple tracks, use the right lane
  • Dogs are not allowed on the or right next to the cross-country tracks
