Getting here

Whether by car, train or plane - only a winding road leads to Kleinwalsertal from neighbouring Allgäu.

For those arriving, Oberstdorf in Allgäu is 10 km away.
Direct coach cars run from Dortmund (Essen, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Bonn), Hamburg, Munich, Augsburg and Nuremberg.

From there you can continue by taxi or bus. Taxis are waiting around the clock at the train station. The Walserbus (terminal right next to the train station) runs every 10 or 20 minutes during high season. Duration of the trip approx. 15 to 40 minutes, depending on the exit point.

From Germany

A7 to motorway junction Allgäu over the section of the A980 to the junction Waltenhofen and on the 4-lane highway 19 via Sonthofen and Oberstdorf to Kleinwalsertal.

From Switzerland

St. Gallen in the direction of Bregenz continue on the Queralpenstrasse to Oberstaufen, Immenstadt, Sonthofen and Oberstdorf in Kleinwalsertal.
Alternative: Riedbergpass over the Bregenzerwald (Hittisau) - Riedbergpass - Fishing - Oberstdorf-Kleinwalsertal - Please note the status of the Riedbergpass, especially in winter.

From Austria

From Tyrol via the A7 to Kempten continue on the B19 towards Oberstdorf. From Vorarlberg - see Switzerland.

Kleinwalsertal is only a few driving hours away from international airports in Germany (MunichStuttgartFriedrichshafen and Memmingen) and Switzerland (St. Gallen-Altenrhein and Zurich) as well as the regional airport in Innsbruck.
